Microsoft have revealed that Silver Xbox Live members will no longer recieve access to free downloadable content at the same time as gold users.
Silver users will now see a red circle with a slash through it to make it clear that the content is restricted, along with a message confirming its exclusivity to paying Gold subscribers.
Patches will still be applied automatically for everyone connected to Live, but content like demos or free add-on’s will be unobtainable for a week.
"This is not done to annoy our Silver members - limited time exclusive access to content is just one of the many benefits of having a Gold Xbox Live account," revealed Major Nelson on his blog.
