Samsung Halo3 Tournament Announced

XCN have revealed to us that Microsoft are set to announced the Official European Halo 3 Tournament sponsored by Samsung TV this Monday.

The tournament will offer gamers across Europe a chance to show off their Halo 3 skills and be rewarded with some amazing prizes, including exclusive Halo 3 artwork, the new Samsung Crystal Design 40” Series 6 FHD TV and a brand new Xbox 360 Elite.

The Tournament will open for registration on February 25, 2008. From that date, all you need to do to sign up is head to the Xbox LIVE Dashboard, click on The Official Halo 3 European Tournament Sponsored By Samsung adverts, and download the exclusive free GamerPic.

Once registered, open play runs from March 18 to March 30. Entrants will need to perform on the three game modes that make up The Official European Halo 3 Tournament sponsored by Samsung TV Xbox LIVE Playlist – Slayer, King of the Hill and Oddball.

At the end of open play, the top ranked player from each European country will be crowned Halo 3 National Champion and will be rewarded with a piece of exclusive framed Halo artwork. They will also qualify for the European Final, where the 14 top ranked players from across Europe will clash in a one-off Xbox LIVE match to decide who is truly legendary.

Competition Summary

  1. Registration opens on Monday February 25
  2. To register all you need to do is download the exclusive Halo 3 European Tournament Sponsored by Samsung GamerPics or Theme. They’re free to download, and you’ll see them advertised on your Xbox 360 Dashboard from Monday.
  3. Tournament play begins on March 18. You’ll see a playlist arrive on Halo 3 called Intl Tournament. Registered players can then begin to rack up their ranking points in this playlist.
  4. Registration will close on March 23.
  5. Then playlist play will close on March 30. At this point the top player from each European country will be crowned National Halo 3 Champion and rewarded with a framed piece of exclusive halo 3 artwork.
  6. All 14 finalists will then clash in a one-off final over Xbox LIVE on April 17, with the overall winner being crowned European Halo 3 Champion and winning a 40" Samsung Series 6 FHD TV, a brand new Xbox 360 Elite console and a faceplate signed by the team at Bungie!
  7. Countries included are UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Sweden.
